Like I have said in a previous blog I don't get to have to many girls night out type things. My world revolves around my husband. Even though he says it don't. Anyways when we have girls nights out it is almost always a blast.
Well the last adventure was the best of them all and I really doubt anything will ever top it.
Months ago my husband purchased
tickets for me. The day I got them I told him he was not permitted to go and that I was taking Devon. I chose her because on our first girls night out, which is also known as the bridal shower, she and I did a duet as one of their songs. I immediately called her and told her the date and time. The concert was for October 13, at 8pm, in the Jobing.com Arena. I reminded her every month.Anyways... My husband gave me the idea to make a weekend of it and take my girlfriend Devon to the fair on Friday. Usually I would wait for him but if I did that we would never get to go. So on October 8th I called her and asked her if she was working on the 10th. She told me she was off for fall break. I explained to her that we were going on a date and I would call her with more details later. The next day I told her I would pick her up at noon, to wear loose pants and bring a fanny pack. I wouldn't tell her where we were going.
Two years prior she had taken me to Castles N Coasters
for my birthday. She paid for everything, including dinner prior to the fun. We even used her camera phone to take a picture of us.
We had vowed as we were waiting in lines for rides that we would go to the fair, when it came around, together, leaving our men at home. The reason for this decision was because my husband hates most rides and her husband hates crowds. Well we ended up not getting to go together. She did. She went with her husband. For days she attempted to figure out where we were going.
All she knew is that we would be walking, to screw her diet, and it was outdoors. She kinda grumbled at that idea. She is not an outside person like I am. She had guessed the fair but I threw her off the idea telling her it was not open for another week.On Friday I went and did some work stuff then drove to her house to pick her up. We ended up leaving late. We stopped at Taco bell along the way so we could save a little cash, and get a little cash. I drove the long way so she wouldn't get the idea to where we were going. Because I couldn't remember what road it was to come into by heading west we ended up going west then going north coming in through the main entrance.
Finally finding a parking spot we got out and began walking into the
. She was jumping up and down. I had made her day. My eyes nearly bugged out at the prices of the rides. Now I remember why I went on bracelet days. The tickets were $20 for 40 tickets. I bought 80 tickets, because the ticket person told us that the rides ranged from 3-14 tickets, depending on the thrill of it. Wowzers.... the
was
each. We decided to skip that ride and head straight into the thrillers. I laid down two rules as we entered the park. First ride is the
and we don't leave till either my cash is gone or the park closes. We walked around first heading to the area where there is a giant train display and little jewelry shops. I am constantly looking for the twin of my arrowhead necklace that I always wear
. This year they did not have any. As we walked past some food stands outside Devon saw a relative of her husbands. She stopped and said Hi. We were offered food but declined till later. After leaving we headed straight for the
. GOD I LOVE THAT RIDE!!! After it we jumped onto
and the
right next to it. We walked over to the coliseum to refill our water bottle, have a smoke and use the restrooms. They got some luxury porta potties though.
This thing had a porcelain toilet, sink and air conditioning! We decided the last ride took a little out of us so we went walking through the demos exhibit. A couple of them almost got my money. Especially the lotion and oils. It took us quite awhile to get through it. When we finally exited we were hungry so we returned to Roberts Aunt. Unfortunately her boss was there. We continued walking and decided to return to the car and unload ourselves of the excess junk we no longer needed. Returning inside we realized it was getting really busy. We walked past the food place again and finally was able to get grubs. Devon got a burger, fries and drink. I got a
and a drink. That sucker took forever to eat.We wanted our food to settle so we headed to the barns. I was looking to see the Clydesdale's but they were not there. The stables weren't even there. But we did get to see lots of

and chickens. We decided it was time to try again with the rides. Every ride had at least 50 people in it. We bounced from ride to ride trying to find one that did not have a hour wait time. There were only three... the zipper WOO HOO and the
then the
. Needless to say now I know why the last ride had such a short line. Once we got to the top like it is in the picture I wanted off. I yelled out "I love you Jerry wherever you are" and kept repeating "bad idea, bad idea, bad idea". Devon and I both screamed. It basically ended our riding adventures for the night. That was definitely a 14 ticket ride. We knew we had some tickets left and I had about $50.00 in my pocket. She was continuously trying to convince me into getting on the
. Oh HELL NO!!! She had been refusing the
but I eventually talked her into it. We were trying to waist our tickets. I had been refusing the
all night but finally gave in. As we walked into the line we discovered we were out of tickets. I still had money so we decided to get our picture taken. We walked back to the car and did our hair and make-up. It was one of those dress up in costume things. It took us awhile to figure out what we wanted to dress up as. We finally decided on
. It would take 20 minutes before they were developed so we went walking around with my remaining $20.00. I saw a stand for wallets and purchased my husband a new wallet with chain. (That I found out later was defective). Finally our day was over. We walked back to get our picture and I drove her home. Two days later was the New Kids On The Block Concert!!! Devon almost didn't go. Once she found out what time it was to start she was concerned about going to work the next day. I was bound and determined I was going with or without someone. She finally caved in.
I went to her house to pick her up. We ended up running a little late because she needed to clean the house to her specifications. We decided to get something to eat before we went inside. Since I had a buy one get one at
. She had gotten a burrito and I got chips and queso... YUMMY! We then walked over to where the concert was being held. The concert was to start at 8pm. There were a few people but definetly not sold out.
Before they came out two other performers came out and entertained. I enjoyed the second ones dancers. Basically we were bored. We decided to get up and walk around the food courts and have a smoke. I had brought my camera and we took pictures of each other while smoking.
Inside we had fun with a charger on display. We had fun with it too.
A woman was walking around with little test tubes that says ala bama slama 30 proof. I couldn't resist. I got us both one. As we walked around we saw girls our age with shirts from the last time they toured. Home made NKOTB paraphernalia. Some bought the outlandishly expensive concert items. One being a button the size of an adult hand. We went to have one last smoke and we walked back to our seats. The anticipation was awesome. The theater had definitely filled up A LOT more while we were away.
Finally the concert started. Devon and I jumped back into our past and squealed like school girls. This is all we had to see
to make us wanna jump the stage then jump them. So did the rest of the girls. From our vantage point we could see them standing behind a railing waiting for their cue. Unfortunately my camera takes really crappy pictures in the dark.
The roof shook to the sound of pretty a full theater full of hormone crazed 30+ year old women, that had been sucked back to the 90's.
They did a lot of old songs that they tweaked a little. But they also did some from the newest one.
Considering they had not performed in a decade they did an incredible job. They made a point to not only sing to the people in the front row. They would also come to the sides and sing up into the rush of women.

During the concert they did more than just sing up on stage they also video taped the crowd with a professional tv like camera.
They did break dancing
and the typical boy group in synchronized duets.

They also appeared out in the middle of the crowd and sang a song around a mini grand piano.
IF you ever want to make thousands of 30+ women scream, cry, pray, grab, sigh, faint, and orgasm just have one of the guys bear his chest.
At the end of the concert the whole group walked to each section of the stage and sang, waved and made us scream.

All it all it was an awesome weekend. Course I am in debt now for a few weeks because this girls night out broke me!!!!
