THIS is all about ME ME ME. All of my life I have always put the world before me and because of that I get SHIT on so this blog is MINE and you can just shove it. You don't wanna read it don't come here. I will be writing in it as much as possible so that my family knows how I am doing. Is cheaper this way. My boss the Tyrant
My boss is great about being rude and heartless. Most of the time I just brush her off but I do what she tells me to do. Or at least try.... Sometimes I am not able to do what she wants. Lately she has been pissing off quite a few people. From what she told me, she almost had an associate from another location in tears after she had talked to her. She had told me before that she was getting prepared for an arsenal of firing. She has no idea the strain that puts on everyone else, especially one who is running 2 locations.
Wednesday night one of my associates was working late with a customer and Jenny called her. Jenny being the way that she is basically pissed off my associate and made her quit. I tried to talk to my associate. But anyone would quit from this. Jenny had asked her how much the company had paid her today. She said about 62 dollars. Then Jenny asked her how much we did in another area. After hearing the total my boss told my associate she needs to give the company back almost 12 dollars from her pay check for that day because of the time she had wasted there. Meaning she did not make enough for the day to make the company any profit. That sent her over the edge and she called me. I attempted to get her to hold out until we could get someone else. She refused. This is her third time threatening to quit, after a Jenny visit. Now it was for real.
Two days later my boss had come into my store for her visit. She was suppose to come in 10 weeks ago, for a fallow up, but never did. Now if I schedule a fallow up and don't do it the week I was supposed to I get reamed for it. Anyways....
She showed up at 9:30am. I was sitting outside having a cigarette when she walked in. I texted her "your here early". She replied "you are too". I responded with "I am always here at this time". When I walked in at 9:50am. She was standing at my register and had someone with her. A District Manager in training. She didn't bother introducing her to me. I clocked in and counted my money. That is when she informed me of an appointment she had made while standing there. They were due to arrive in 10 minutes. Lovely! Not only is she in my personal space, has stuff laying all over the place, now I have to over perform because she is there. I am quite energetic as it is, but when she is there I will overdue it. I figured she would have prepared some of the morning preparations... HA who am I joking she don't do work that requires her breaking a nail, getting a hair out of place, or creating a bead of sweat.
I walked to the back to put my purse away and get out the memory card for the studio. She then insulted me. I was wearing a pair of black silk slacks that are wide legged for my large legs. They are not bell bottoms but they are also not skin tight. They feel so good I feel naked in them.
Along with that I was wearing a white tank top with a long sleeved spandex material jacket over the top of it. The jacket goes past my butt and is closed in the front with a rhinestone encrusted lizard pin
. Well she made a remark in saying that they looked like Bobby Brown pants and wondered if I was trapped in the 80's. I turned to her and told her that they were comfy and cheap. What I wanted to say was I'm sorry I can't buy a suit for every day of the week like you. I shop as Savers not Christian Diors' (which is on Rodeo Drive in California).
So I do my shoot. I don't get as much out of the customer as I would like. Jenny is listening to every little word I say. Obviously not very well as I got dinged later for not offering the specialty product in the first package. Give me a break. I write every little thing down and I can prove it too ....... ok here is when it went to hell.
The minute the customer left she was immediately telling me everything that I do wrong. My drawers are set up wrong, I don't do the paperwork correctly, I take to much time in the shoot and on the sales screen. I get paid to much to work on slow days and need to shift my schedule around. She also went on to tell me that my studio was in the red in every area on our studio score card. This score card puts you in quintiles to get extra money. I was not getting anything. She made sure to draw a map on how much I lose the company and how I could do better if I just shifted the schedule around. My people have specific days that they work. We have worked around it so we can all get what we want. She sat there with me and showed me how I am losing the company money, showed me that I do my paperwork and computer entries incorrectly. She even told me that when I say I can't she hears I won't. Well from her when I say I can't I hear that's not my problem you need to fix it, and no I won't help you figure out a way to do so.
She also made sure to point out that basically my customers hate me because I am so blunt and ..... basically she was saying that I am too friendly, personal and energetic for the customers and it scares them. Yeah that's why I have repeat customers. That's why I have been running a 100 dollar average for 3 months straight. My studio has been running above a 95. Well one of them. Every customer gets a phone call after they have taken pictures and they do a survey. They ask the customer if they received a reminder phone call for their appointment (not my fault if they don't listen to their voicemails). They ask if the photographer was professional. (we say hi, play with the kids, take the pictures, and make jokes when showing the pictures). Then there is did the photographer do top down selling? (We all write down the packages on a piece of paper and talk to you about each one). Did the photographer talk to you about the portrait smiles club? (Maybe if they said membership card they would know what they're talking about). Did the photographer offer next appointment? (It was most likely when you were trying to bundle the kids or pay for that days session so you could leave). By this time the customer is quite done with the survey and just wants it to end so they just push random buttons. Thus getting a low rating.
Oh one thing I had mentioned above about her making an appointment for in 10 minutes? The mother had been walking by with her daughter and the kid said I want to take pictures. Jenny heard that and jumped the chance to get her in right then and there. This little girl was in her nightgown, was carrying a blanky, and her hair was everywhere but down. The mother showed up 20 min later, with a new dress and hair ties. After the session I got educated that the kid was sick and had strep throat. Now that is not so bad if you have been on antibiotics but NO... they had just come from the doctors office and were picking up her prescription that she had just been given. THANKS JENNY!!!!!!!! Now I have to sterilize my place before I can have another kid in there. THANKS MOM for not being smart enough and keeping your kid away from other people so they won't be contaminated. OH and for letting her decide that she wanted to take pictures and telling her yes even though she was really sick. Now that's responsibility!!!!!!!

I grabbed my day planner to see who worked on the days in question. I was just about to open and it and she wrestled it from my hands. She said it was not important who was working. It was just to show me someone was screwing up. She then showed me another area that was were having errors. I picked my book up again to find out who was working that day so I could talk to them and see that it does not happen again and she ripped the book out of my hand and threw it on the counter. She again said that it did not matter who was working we just need to stop doing everything incorrectly. It was her numbers that were coming out jacked up because of a few errors on or system. Not daily errors either. I was fist clenching by this time and glaring hard. The other chick walked off, leaving Jenny and I there to argue. Thank god I got a customer at that time. She walked away from to go write her you are a screw up report.
It was after 2pm.... I should have left 15 min ago for lunch (always bitching about us going over labor hours but she keeps us there late so it happens). She had me to sign her normal you did all this wrong and need to fix it by my next visit paperwork. After she makes you sign it she shakes your hand. I was agitated by this time that I just looked at her hand and said no thank you and walked away. Needless to say I was really pissed off now. I walked out of the store and smoked like 6 cigarettes in 30 min. (this is why I smoke... to keep from blowing my top). I called my other store and warned her she was coming over. Then I sat and ranted. If she was to go after my other associate the way she came after me , I would definitely have another one quit. Jenny walked into my other store said everything was fine and left. Her drawers look exactly like mine. I should know I made them that way. So why was I so special to get insulted, put down, and ridiculed.
By the time she left, I summed everything she had said into one long sentence to comprehend it better.
"You are a crappy associate, your studio sucks, your other studio is bad, all your associates are terrible and you are not worth the money we pay you".
After 4 in a half years I should be getting paid 15% more than what I do now. She is so lucky I stayed working. I actually started talking to the other businesses in the area and filled out 2 applications. If it was not for my husbands voice in my head saying "were going to lose our home, your car, and our life" also my customers and the place I worked loving me so much I would have walked out right there.
Ok I need a smoke I am all fired up again.
